Jake McNichol is the Founder and Executive Director of Freedom Skate Park, a non-profit which brings pop-up skate events to all ages in Trenton. Partnering with the city's Department of Recreation, Natural Resources & Culture, they carved out a space to skate indoors at the Roebling Wire Works building. This is especially important when the cold weather and short days snuff out opportunities to skate.
Georgian Colonial house is designated a National Historic Landmark.
Freedom allows more people to experience the benefits of skateboarding, enhances Trenton’s cultural landscape, and improves outcomes for at-risk youth by providing a high-quality, public, indoor skate park where skaters of all skill levels and backgrounds can come together to practice their skills, form friendships, and learn from one another.
